Buongiorno! Ciao! Arrivederci! Grazie!

The K-3 Class studied the book "Strega Nona" by Tomie dePaola. In the story, Strega Nona has a magic pasta pot that can produce enormous amounts of cooked spaghetti noodles. Her assistant, Big Anthony decides to try the special pasta pot while Strega Nona is out of town. He successfully makes the pasta and serves it to the town folk. The pot continues to make pasta and Big Anthony is unable to get the pot to stop cooking pasta. Soon pasta fills Strega Nona's house and starts to flood the streets of town. Strega Nona arrives home and saves the town by blowing three magic kisses across the magic pasta pot causing the pot to stop.

The K-3 Class had a visit from our very own SCC Strega Nonas who came bearing spaghetti which they cooked in their magic pot. Thankfully, Big Anthony was not part of this storyline and the pasta stayed in the magic pot. The students enjoyed their spaghetti lunch. They also learned several common Italian phrases along the way.

Thanks to SCC for being part of our special day.
