In March we held a Read-A-Thon for the Kindergarten to Grade nine students. Participants were asked to collect pledges from their friends and families and to keep a reading log of all the minutes they spent reading. Congratulations to the Grade 5/6 classroom for logging the most minutes read. They received a pizza lunch. Prizes were also awarded for the student who logged the most minutes in each classroom. The prizes were awarded to the following students:
Kindergarten- Freya Waelchli
Grade 1- Taliegha Devins
Grade 2- Kylie Winter
Grade 3- Georgia Slykhuis
Grade 4- Sammy Corkish
Grade 5- Amilee Waelchli
Grade 6- Cadence Harper
Grade 7- Rayanne Poirier
Students who collected the most pledges also won prizes. Taliegha Devins was the top pledge earner and she was the Principal for the day and she won $30 in books. Georgia Slykhuis was the second place winner and she won $20 in books. Kylie and Claire winter tied for 3rd place and they each won $10 in free books.
