Truth and Reconciliation Community Event – September 29
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Manor School has been invited to participate in Every Child Matters, a community event hosted by White Bear First Nations at the White Bear Education Complex on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
We are grateful for the opportunity to join the White Bear community for a day of learning, reflection, and community. Our students will have the opportunity to learn about our shared history and reflect on the importance of Truth and Reconciliation through a variety of activities. The day will include a Pipe Ceremony, guest speakers, activities and games, a community BBQ, and a community walk.
Manor students and staff will leave the school shortly before 10:30 a.m. and will return to Manor in time for the end of our regular school day, before 3:20 p.m.
Students will attend with Manor School staff and will be expected to participate respectfully in the activities throughout the day. We see this as an important opportunity for our students to learn through listening, participation, and connection with the community.
Students should dress appropriately for the weather, as several activities will take place outdoors. We also encourage students to bring a water bottle.
We appreciate the invitation from White Bear First Nations and look forward to sharing this meaningful day with our students and the community.
If you have any questions about the event or your child's participation, please contact the school.
Sincerely,
Scott Kirkness
Principal
